Dr. Julie Byrne on Book Tour Promoting “The Other Catholics”

Dr. Julie Byrne, Hofstra’s Monsignor Thomas J. Hartman Endowed Chair in Catholic Studies, is on tour this summer promoting her book The Other Catholics: Remaking America’s Largest Religion (Columbia University Press), which shares the remarkable history and current activity of independent Catholics, who number at least two hundred communities and a million members across the United States.

Through archival documents and interviews, Dr. Byrne tells the story of the unforgettable leaders and surprising influence of these understudied churches.

Dr. Byrne’s upcoming author appearances include:

Saturday, June 18, 4 p.m., at Neshaminy Mall in Bensalem, PA

Thursday, July 14 at 6 p.m.,  The Seminary Co-op Bookstores, Chicago, Illinois

Sunday, July 17, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., St Stanislaus Parish, St. Louis, MO
