Julia Markus’s biography, Lady Byron and Her Daughters, chronicles how Lord Byron’s wife, Annabella Milbanke, survived her marriage and separation from Byron, becoming an important reform figure in England. Lady Caroline’s novel, Glenarvon, about her affair with Byron appeared two hundred years ago, just as Byron left his wife and child forever. Lady Caroline’s biographer, Paul Douglass, a professor a San José State University, will lead this discussion with Professor Markus on these remarkable Romantic-era women and the writing of biography today.
