Walt Whitman’s Music Voice – A Multimedia Event

Hofstra Writing Studies and Composition faculty member and noted spoken word entertainer Paul Kirpal Gordon teams up with pianist/composer Steve Elmer to present “Walt Whitman’s Musical Voice” on Monday, March 21, at 2:55 p.m. Iconic poems from Walt Whitman’s Leaves of Grass will be read aloud to music by Ellington, Debussy, Chopin, Gershwin, and Rodgers and Hart, among others. Hofstra students and special guests will also present readings in different languages and give a PowerPoint presentation on the Long Island-born poet.

This multimedia event takes place in the Guthart Cultural Center Theater, Axinn Library, First Floor. Admission is free and open to the public. For more information, visit Hofstra Cultural Center or call 516-463-5669.
