Hofstra University will host its eighth annual St. Baldrick’s Day, a fundraiser in which Hofstra administrators, faculty and students shave their heads to raise money for childhood cancer research. The event will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2016 during common hour, 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., in the Sondra and David S. Mack Student Center Atrium.
Last year Hofstra raised over $40,000 for St. Baldrick’s Day, and this year Dr. Berliner has challenged the university to raise $45,000 to have him shave his head.
For the second year in a row, we will be presenting the individual who raises the most money with the “Pete Libman Pride Award.” This award is in memory of the late Dean of Students, Peter Libman, who championed the event for its first six years at Hofstra and died in 2014.
