Standout Student: Britney Nathan

Britney Nathan ’16 is a health science major who is in the competitive 4+4 BS/MD program.  She first learned what it would be like to be a doctor through Hofstra’s Medical Pipeline Scholars Program, which connects gifted students from Uniondale High School with local health professionals in a rigorous five-week academic course.  On campus, Britney began a MAPS (Minority Association of Pre-health Students) chapter and also does research with Dr. Martine Hackett in the School of Health Sciences and Human Services on how social stigma affects local suburban youth.  She hopes to be an obstetrician-gynecologist specializing in adolescent medicine.
