For the fifth consecutive year, The School of Education has been named to U.S. News & World Report’s rankings of Best Graduate Schools of Education. Hofstra is the only Long Island institution to make the top 100 for 2015.
U.S. News & World Report also included the School of Education in its 2013 and 2014 its listing of the Best Online Education Programs – in 2014 the School was recognized as a whole in this category, and in 2013 the MSEd in Higher Education Leadership and Policy Studies (a hybrid program with components available both online and in the classroom) was featured.
For the inaugural year of the edTPA (Teacher Performance Assessment), a portfolio assessment system intended to measure readiness for a teacher preparation candidate to teach, 92 percent of Hofstra students received a passing score, surpassing the unofficial statewide average of 84 percent. More than 50 percent of Hofstra students who received scores achieved mastery status.
The graduate studies open house is a great opportunity to explore Hofstra’s master’s degrees and advanced certificate programs in education. For more information contact Assistant Dean Monica Conforti at 516-463-5781.
