Hofstra’s MFA program in Creative Writing will host an open house where aspiring and established writers can learn more about the graduate program. Faculty and current students will be available to answer questions. The Open House is scheduled for Saturday, February 1, 2014, from 2-4:30 p.m. at the Hofstra Hall Parlor.

The MFA is considered a terminal degree for writers who would like to advance their careers in fields such as publishing, teaching, and editing. For many students, engaging fully in the art and craft of writing – with the ongoing support and critical attention of a distinguished faculty – is an end in itself.

Hofstra MFA in Creative Writing Program Highlights:

• Students choose from concentrations in fiction, poetry, playwriting, and creative nonfiction, with the option to do course work in more than one genre.

• Award-winning, published faculty are devoted to nurturing talent and fostering a writing community.

• Writing seminars and small classes allow students to develop close relationships with their professors and enjoy inspirational, participatory classroom experiences.

• Hofstra’s ongoing “Great Writers, Great Readings” Series brings nationally and internationally renowned writers to campus. (For a list of the series’ distinguished participating authors, please visit hofstra.edu/gwgr.)
