Hofstra University is very happy to learn that ROTC alumnus Alex McHale will soon be on his way back to New York from Afghanistan. While overseas, the Class of 2010 grad and UH60 pilot proudly displayed his Hofstra flag even though he was so far from home – “I love Hofstra. It is my home, my sanctuary, and the place where I spent some of the best years of my life.”
Officer McHale, who served as president of Pershing Rifles as a Hofstra student and was commissioned a 2LT upon graduating from Hofstra, is no stranger to heroics, even on home soil. He assisted in the relief efforts during Super Storm Sandy, flying multiple missions all over Nassau and Suffolk Counties, Manhattan and New Jersey.
The Hofstra community is very proud of Officer McHale and all Hofstra alumni serving or who have served in the armed forces.
