Hofstra freshman guard Jamall Robinson was named the Colonial Athletic Association’s Rookie of the Week for the period ending Dec. 15, the league announced today.
Robinson scored 13 points and grabbed four rebounds in Hofstra’s 72-67 victory over Central Connecticut State on Sunday. The freshman guard was 2-for-4 from three-point range and also contributed an assist, block and steal.
Robinson logged 37 minutes in the win over the Blue Devils. He added six points and registered his block and steal in the second half. For the season, Robinson is third on team is scoring with 9.3 points-per-game and second in total points with 84.
The award marks the second time Robison has earned CAA Rookie of the Week honors. The Cheltenham, Maryland native first won the award on Nov. 11 after averaging 11.5 points and 4.0 rebounds.
Hofstra (3-6) will next be in action on Monday, Dec. 23 with a 7 p.m. road game at Siena.
