Merry TubaChristmas! Musical Tradition to be Featured on CBS Sunday Morning

TubaChristmas 2013

This Sunday, December 22, Hofstra Tuba Professor Michael Salzman will perform on CBS Sunday Morning as part of a news segment on TubaChristmas.

Conceived and founded by the late Harvey G. Phillips, TubaChristmas is marked by concerts all across the country. Just last weekend on December 15, approximately 425 tuba and euphonium players, including Hofstra music students and alumni, gathered at the tree in Rockefeller Center to perform the 40th annual TubaChristmas Concert. Professor Salzman, a former student of Harvey Phillips’, organizes the New York City performance every year.

Professor Salzman and his students are happy to help carry on this tradition of playing Christmas carols at Rockefeller Center, while showcasing the beautiful sounds of the mass tuba choir. For more information on TubaChristmas visit TubaChristmas.com.
