Men’s Basketball Reaches Springfield Bracket Championship
The Pride men’s basketball team defeated Hartford in the semifinals of the Springfield Bracket of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Tipoff at Mohegan Sun Arena Saturday night to advance to Sunday’s championship against Belmont. The Pride battled the Bruins, which had upset North Carolina earlier in the week, but came up short despite 25 points from Zeke Upshaw.
Women’s Basketball Edged In Overtime By Virginia Tech
The Pride women’s basketball team led undefeated Virginia Tech of the Atlantic Coast Conference for much of the game, but the Hokies tied the score as time expired in regulation en route to a 77-72 overtime win at the Mack Sports Complex. Annie Payton led the Pride with 20 points.
Wrestling Crowns Three Champions, Places Second At NYS Championships
Graduate student Joe Booth and seniors Jamie Franco (pictured) and Luke Vaith all captured individual titles and seven more Pride wrestlers placed in the top eight to lead Hofstra to a second place finish at the 2013 New York State Collegiate Championships at Cornell University’s Newman Arena at Bartels Hall Sunday.

Soccer Teams Recognized For Academic Success
The Hofstra Men’s and Women’s Soccer programs were recognized as 2012-13 College Team Academic Award Winners by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Wills, Black Earn CAA Volleyball Honors
Two Pride volleyball standouts – Kelsie Wills and Sophia Black – were recognized by the CAA for their outstanding play this season as Wills earned All-CAA First Team accolades and Black was a CAA All-Rookie selection. The pair helped Hofstra to the semifinals of the CAA Championship this past weekend with a win over James Madison before falling to eventual champion Charleston to end the season.
Baseball Releases 2014 Schedule
Softball Schedule Released
Head Softball Coach Bill Edwards released the 2014 Pride softball schedule, which features a home doubleheader against LSU and matchups against six teams that qualified for last season’s NCAA Tournament.

Men’s basketball returns home to host Manhattan Saturday, November 30 at 4 p.m…Women’s basketball is back in action Monday night, December 2, hosting Concordia at 7 p.m…Tickets for all events at the Mack Sports Complex are available by calling 516-HOF-TIXX or purchase online through the Hofstra Box Office…Wrestling will compete in the Grapple at the Garden event at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, December 1, taking on Army and Boston University at 10 a.m. and Noon, respectively.
