With the Thanksgiving break coming up next week, the majority of Hofstra students living on campus return home to be with their families. International students don’t always have that opportunity, especially if they’re from far-flung countries. But international students of Hofstra University can celebrate Thanksgiving right here on campus at a dinner Thursday, November 21 sponsored by the Multicultural & International Programs Office (MISPO). The MISPO Thanksgiving Dinner will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Room 246 in the East Wing of Axinn Library.

Hofstra has more than 900 international students representing over 70 countries.  Earlier this month, the Frank G. Zarb School of Business had a Thanksgiving dinner for its international students. There was tons of stuffing, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie and, yes, turkey. Students learned about the history behind the holiday and why Americans celebrate it every year.
