Dr. Julia Markus (picture above, far right), professor of English and author of four novels and three acclaimed biographies, led a November 18 workshop at the Book Revue, a popular independent book store in Huntington, NY. After hearing many of the participants read from their works in progress, Dr. Markus offered critique and encouragement to the aspiring writers.

Also on November 18, Dr. Markus’ novels – Uncle, Friends Along the Way, A Change of Luck, and American Rose – became available digitally on Amazon.com. She is currently at work on a biography of Lady Byron and serves as a core faculty member of Hofstra’s MFA in Creative Writing program. More information about her is available on her newly launched website juliamarkuswrites.com.

Paul Zimmerman, adjunct associate professor of English, will be the next faculty member to present a writing workshop at the Book Revue on Monday, December 16.
