A recent food drive by students in Hofstra’s Physician Assistant Studies program brought in more than 930 items over a 15-day period, and will help provide meals to members of the surrounding community in time for Thanksgiving.

PA programs across the state were invited to initiate local drives as part of a larger fundraising effort by the New York State Society of Physician Assistants to help charitable organizations.  Hofstra’s drive brought in almost double the projected goal, and  benefits the EAC Network in Hempstead, which provides food for the homebound, including seniors and those living with HIV/AIDS, as well as for families in need.
