The Colonial Athletic Association celebrated its annual media day on Tuesday, October 22 and several bits of news was released, including the preseason poll and All-CAA teams for both men’s and women’s basketball and the announcement of the exciting conference television package for the 2013-14 campaign.
As part of the conference’s television package, the Hofstra men will see its game the first of its three conference games airing on tv occur on Monday, January 27 when the Pride travel to Maryland to face Towson at 7 p.m. That contest will air on SportsNet New York (SNY) in the New York area, while also airing on Comcast SportsNet-Mid Atlantic (CSN-MA), The Comcast Network-Philadelphia, Comcast SportsNet-New England (CSN-NE) and CSS.
The Pride’s second CAA televised game is at James Madison on Monday, February 10. This 7 p.m. tip-off will also air on SNY, with additional coverage on CSN-MA and Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia (CSN-PHL).
The third of Hofstra’s three conference games airing on television will be a rare Sunday night encounter at Drexel on February 16. This exciting 8 p.m. start will have multiple outlets covering it with SNY once again being the option in the New York market. The game can also be seen on CSN-MA, CSN-PHL, CSN-NE and CSS.
As part of the conference’s television package, the women’s 3:30 p.m. game on February 16 against the Cougars will be televised by SportsNet New York (SNY) in the New York area while also airing on Comcast SportsNet-Mid Atlantic (CSN-MA), Comcast SportsNet-New England (CSN-NE),CSS and TCN-P.
In regards to the preseason polls, the Hofstra women were picked sixth, while the men were chosen ninth. Senior forward Anma Onyeuku and junior guard Andreana Thomas of the women’s squad were selected to the All-CAA second team.
