Michael Hacker of STEM Research Center Awarded NSF Grant

National Science Foundation

Michael Hacker, co-director of Hofstra’s Center for STEM Research, has been awarded a grant of $448,400 from the National Science Foundation in support of his project, “Engineering for All (EfA).”   The award is for the first year of a three-year project in the amount of $1.5 million.

EfA develops curriculum materials for engineering and technology education that appeals to all students, not just those interested in engineering careers. Its  goal is to not only to provide an effective way to reinforce mathematics, science, social science, and language skills, but to encourage and engage students to think in new engineering-driven ways about how to solve the social and global issues that are important to all people.
